Dyeing your eyelashes at home is easy and with the help of the following step-by-step guide we will help you get the best result possible. The most common brands to dye your eyelashes with are Depend and Refectocil .
Eyelash tinting - How to do it?
Step 1 - Preparation
Start by grooming your brows with tweezers or an eyebrow trimmer. Then remove all make-up from the area to be dyed with an oil-free eye make-up remover and cleanse thoroughly. This is important because eye make-up residue can impair the results. The hair to be dyed must be clean and dry. Also, apply a little Vaseline around the brow to prevent the dye from sticking to the wrong places.
Step 2 - Mix paint
Mix the eyebrow dye (about 1 cm) with about the same amount of hydrogen peroxide as needed to activate the dye. Hydrogen peroxide is available in both cream and a more liquid form. Stir until it becomes a smooth cream.
Step 3 - Application
Apply the color to your eyebrow. Start applying the color at the tip and in the places you want it a little darker (for example, if there is a section with thinner hairs) and then work your way in. Then adjust with a clean tip and remove any color that has ended up outside the edges.
Step 4 - Working time
How long the exposure time is depends on the result you are looking for. The longer you let the color act, the darker the color. But the color should take between 2 and 10 minutes to act. Keep in mind that when you have finished applying the color, it has already had time to act for a minute. Also keep in mind that light hair dyes more easily than dark hair.
Step 5 - Wash off the paint
Dampen a cotton pad in lukewarm water and wipe off the color thoroughly. Let your brows dry before assessing the results, as the color may appear darker if your brows are wet. Feel free to apply a cooling and soothing eye cream to your brows when you're done. The results last up to six weeks.
(Step 6 - Adjustment)
If adjustment is necessary, for example if any area still feels a little lighter, apply a little more color to these areas and let it work. Wash off.
