When looking for a good and affordable mascara , the price of the mascara is usually the deciding factor. After comparing different mascaras and finally choosing one, it is usually the cheaper one that you actually want. How much difference is there between the cheap and expensive mascara?

There are many more differences than just the price of a mascara. It can be about how much it holds, the effect it gives and how long it lasts. An expensive mascara can therefore be cheaper than a cheap mascara, because you can get both more content and better and longer-lasting results. But it absolutely does not have to be that way.

An example of this is “Paese Adore 3D Lash Mascara” and “Max Factor Masterpiece Mascara”. The former costs 159 kronor which is a common price for mascara. The second mascara, Max Factor Masterpiece Mascara costs 160 kronor.

Most “regular brands” are between SEK 149 and SEK 179.

The price is the same, the difference is only one kroner. But Paese Adore 3D Lash Mascara contains 12 ml, while Max Factor Masterpiece only contains 4.5 ml!

In other words, you can buy two Max Factor Masterpiece Mascaras and still not have as much mascara as there is in one from Paese!

In an independent lab test, comparisons and tests were made on the cheapest, the most expensive and everything in between mascaras. The most expensive mascara, Yves Saint Laurent “Mascara Volume

Effet Faux Cils”, is priced at 360 SEK and the cheaper mascara, Wet n wild “Mega Protein Mascara” is priced at 55 SEK.

There is a difference of just under a milliliter of content between the mascaras. Both mascaras passed the water spray test, but Wet n Wild's mascara unfortunately left marks when the eyelids were squeezed together and marks when the finger was stroked against the lashes.

However, the Wet n wild mascara gave more volume than Yves Saint Laurent. However, Yves Saint Laurent won the length test.

Review of Yves Saint Laurent “Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils:

Provides limited volume but longer lashes and even results. Very durable.

Review on Wet n wild Mega Protein Mascara:

Provides limited volume and length. Waterproof but tends to smudge.

So if you're unsure which one to choose, this mascara is a tip.
